SOFC Interconnector Coating using HVOF Process

S. Y. Hwang, J. H. Kim, B. G. Seong, H. S. Yang, RIST, Pohang, South Korea

This paper presents a development of coatings for SOFC interconnectors using LaSrMn Oxide (LSM) and LaSrCoFe Oxide (LSCF).  The process involves development of compact coatings using HVOF spray process.   The relationship between molten ceramic oxide particle properties and the coating properties will be shown.  Numerous process parameters will be evaluated using design of experiments (DOE).  The influence of important parameters on the microstructures will be shown and examined.
