Thermal spraying technology is the listed advanced manufacturing technology to be developed with great effort in” the eleventh five-year” programming and the perspective layout for the year 2020 of China, which is one of the very important factors in the practice of establishing an economical society at the same time. This paper analyzed some cases by Surface Engineering Research Institute of CAAMS on application of thermal spraying technologies on several components (such as the packaging industry- corrugated roller, plastic industry- injection molding screw, railway industry- insulated bearing and petroleum & chemistry industry- ball valve with large diameter) in the recent years. This paper also presented some new developments on the applications of thermal spraying technology in China, comparing them with the actuality of oversea thermal spray technologies and raising some considerations on future developing trends of thermal spraying applications in China.
