This paper chiefly presents the development of thermal spraying technology in oversea and its application in the iron & steel industry. It also analyzed the difference between domestic and oversea companies on thermal spraying technology application and made emphasis on describing and analyzing the thermal spraying applications on CGL Sink rolls and Stabilizing rolls, Continuous annealing hearth rolls, Process rolls and Mould narrow plates for CCL. It also introduced the cases of application thermal spraying technology on manufacturing and repairing key spare parts of Baosteel, and the effect of improving the product level in iron & steel productions and reducing the consumed cost of spare parts. From cooperative with overseas and innovating of technologies, combining of using technology with manufacturing technology, to pre-maintenance and complete life cycle service etc, aspects, it provided suggestions how to expand the application of thermal spraying technology in Baosteel Corp.
