Thick Pure tungsten coatings were sprayed on molybdenumAcopperAiron substrate by low pressure plasma spray. The mechanical properties and microstructures of tungsten coatings were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Anti-hot shock were tested by high power electron beam bombardment. The results show that the large mismatch on the coefficient of thermal expansion between coating and substrate. The density of the coatings are close to 95% of theory density; and properties of tungsten coating were strongly influenced by different processes and substrates. Keywords : low pressure plasma spray; tungsten coating; high power electron beam bombardment.

Summary: our work centered on the fabrication of thick Tungsten coating via LPPS with Copped, molybdenum and steel as substrate respectively. And the mechanica properties and micaro-structure were analyzed.
