Comparison of PVD and Thermal Spray Techniques to Perform Solar Cells

D. Klein, A. Benyoucef, F. Lapostolle, C. Coddet, University of Technology Belfort-Montbeliard, Belfort Cedex, France; F. L. Toma, Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology, Dresden, Germany; B. Benyoucef, Université Abou Bekr Belkaid, Tlemcen, Algeria

Different coatings of TiO2 were elaborated by magnetron sputtered and Thermal spray techniques for photovoltaic applications.  The numerous characteristics of layers obtained have been carried out by SEM, XRD and surface properties analyser. Then coatings were prepared to be use like Grätzel cells. Thus, the results show the efficiency to use the both techniques and define the best way to perform this type of photovoltaic cell.

Summary: Different coatings of TiO2 were elaborated by magnetron sputtered and Thermal spray techniques for photovoltaic applications.
