Fe-Al/Cr3C2 composite coatings were deposited on grade 20 steel substrates by High Velocity Arc Spraying (HVAS) technology. Friction and wear properties of the coatings were studied from 25°C to 650°C high temperature. Results showed that the Fe-Al/Cr3C2 composite coatings had good and relatively stable friction and wear properties. The temperature had small effect on the friction coefficient of the composite coatings by compared with Fe-Al coatings. As for wear properties, the anti-wear properties of the Fe-Al/Cr3C2 composite coatings changed little with the increase of temperature, contrasted with substrates and Fe-Al coatings. The wear rate of the composite coatings reduced 7 times as compared with 20 steel substrate. Under high temperature and high load, the wear mechanism of the Fe-Al/Cr3C2 composite coatings was delamination combined with adhesion mainly.
