Cold gas dynamic spray (Cold Spray) deposition of titanium has shown to be a promising approach for fabrication of titanium structures directly from powder in the absence of controlled atmosphere and at affordable cost. The effect of annealing on a commercial purity (CP) titanium powder deposited under Cold Spray conditions is studied. Equi-axed grains which include ultra fine grain structure are observed. A physical based model is proposed for recrystallization of the Cold Spray deposited titanium and the results are compared with conventional cold rolled and annealed titanium products.
