ABSTRACT

With increasing firing temperature and longer service life, TBC for land-based turbine is facing new challenges. Some of these challenges will be discussed during the Panel Discussion Session.

Panel Discussion Session:

Advanced Thermal Barrier Coatings: Challenges and Opportunities in Technology Transition and Commercialization

This panel discussion session will have world leading experts from engine and coating companies discussing the issues related to successful technology transition and commercialization for advanced thermal barrier coatings. The panel presentations and discussions will especially focus on advanced Thermal Barrier Coating technologies, including new compositions, emerging processing technologies, validation testing, associated technical barriers and technology transition to the real world. The development emphasis and future directions for next-generation thermal barrier coating processing, manufacturing and performance demonstrations will also be discussed.
