Wear processes and corrosion most of time occurs in components exposes during their useful life. The generation of power by hydroelectric turbine is a good example of the expose different kinds of wear and corrosion. One way to recovery the profile is deposit thermally sprayed coatings. There are several wear mechanism acting simultaneously, and the validation of these mechanisms separately sometimes is not the better way to measure the materials properties. This paper presents results of cavitation erosion and corrosion analyses on Cr3C2 – 25NiCr deposited with different parameters condition. It was observed that the porosity had a strong influence in both wear and corrosion processes. The synergism wear (corrosion/cavitation) needed some carefully preparation and are currently being evaluated.
