Many Japanese engineers/researchers have been paying big effort on improving plasma spray process; i.e. its equipments, materials and related techniques. Some of unique, original equipments for plasma spray process which were invented and used in Japan will be presented.
Plasma guns with special features, such as axial feeding, usage of air or Ar as plasma gas, control of electric arc by means of magnetic field, powder feeding systems for finer particles, nano composite coating by means of eutectic precipitation, and more would be explained.
