Abstract: because of its super high tensile strength, 300M steel is used widely in aerial industry. But it has bad corrosion performance as one of carbon steel, so it must be protected by some coatings. WC10Co4Cr coatings prepared by HVOF are one of typical methods. In this paper, nine different WC10Co4Cr coatings were prepared by HVOF on 300M steel and their corrosion performance was estimated and analyzed. The results indicate that porosity and hardness of the coatings will be different under different parameters. And the porosity is main effect on corrosion performance. WC10Co4Cr coatings have good corrosion performance if its porosity is less than 1%. After neutral salt fog test, the coatings¡¯ corrosion performance will be worse for the porosity will get large because of the dissolution of the bonding phase.
