Dimensional restoration by cold spray requires strong adhesion of the deposited material to the repaired part. Contrary to other thermal spray methods, cold spray can provide deposit thickness sufficient for adhesion tests by bending. This straightforward test enables to obtain adhesion strength as well as interfacial fracture toughness. The use of the method is demonstrated in a case study of CuSn alloy deposited at CuSn substrates of different grain size, aimed to church bell repair by cold spray.
