HP/HVOF (High-Pressure/High-Velocity-Oxygen/liquid-Fuel) thermal spray torches (i.e., Linde AMT’s TAFA Model 5220), with their high-velocity plume generated from axial style fuel stabilization designs, have long provided viable processes used to create high performance coatings for many applications including power generation, petrol-chemical and aerospace.  One of consumable items to this torch design is the barrel. Recently, there have been a number of alternative style barrels introduced into the market. While the geometry is similar there have been material changes to the component itself as well as a material change to the Inside diameter to increase the life span of the component. This presentation will be dedicated to showing differences in coatings properties when component material is changed through empirical methods. https://lindegroup-my.sharepoint.com/personal/f4wd32_linde_com/Documents/Documents/Sales/ITSC 2023 Abstract Draft 1 DAS 221026.docx
