Standard Practices for an Expert Witness

Engineers and material scientists not only must be concerned with meeting the legal system’s standard to qualify as an expert witness they must be aware of the various standards of practices recommended for investigation of mishaps with the potential for legal action. Several standards have been adopted by organizations such as ASTM, which require that particular procedures be followed in a forensic investigation. These standards will be reviewed in detail.
