Simulating the Surface Treatment Processes on Steels

The effective simulation of surface treating processes,carburizing, carbonitriding and nitriding, is needed for process development and control. In this presentation the fundamentals of process model development, database needs and model verification will be presented. The identification of boundary and initial conditions will be discussed. The results of experimental model verification will also be presented.
