Tribology of Carbide Derived Carbon Coatings Grown on Tungsten Carbide

M. Tlustochowicz, M. McNallan, University of Illinois, Chicago, IL

View in WORD format

Summary: Carbide derived carbon films on tungsten carbide have been shown to be useful for tribological purposes because they provide low friction coefficients (in the range of 0.13 to 0.25) and high resistance to wear in comparison to other carbon coatings.
