Summary: Thermal sprayed coatings are often applied Ti-alloy compressor blades in turbine engines to protect against fretting wear and extend operational life. In this study bench level fretting wear tests were conducted at temperatures ranging from ambient up to 450C (842F) on plasma sprayed CuNiIn, Aluminum Bronze, molybdenum, and nickel coatings.
