The Luders-like deformation bands in a super-elastic NiTi drawn wire form by uni-axial tensial tests. They are studied by in-situ scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with an automated electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) system. The crystallographic features of the Luders-like deformation bands are characterized. The textural, orientation and grain boundary features in the elastic, plastic and the front regions of the Luders-like deformation bands are spatially mapped. The grain (crystallographic lattice)’s rotation, shear and extension were studied as a function of extensile strain. The Luders-like deformation bands in the NiTi alloy are detailed characterized from the crystallographic view points.
