Making Intrauterine Contraceptives from TiNi Alloys

V. G. Dorodeiko, Medical Enterprise "SIMURG", Vitebsk, Belarus; V. V. Rubanik, Institute of Thechnical Acoustics, Vitebsk, Belarus

For many years the Medical Enterprise “Simurg” has been successfully engaged in making and supplying intrauterine contraceptives(IUC) “Yunona Bio-T” to the market. The contraceptive “Yunona Bio-T” is a classical model of T-shaped medicamentous IUC. The anchor is made of polyethylene of high pressure and has a form with the required mechanical characteristics. Horizontal hangers of IUC are ended by olives. The copper wire with a silver corn is around the vertical pivot 0,1 mm in diameter, which increases the period of contraceptive use. On the pivot end there is a loop for fixing two transcervical threads. In the firm the technology for making intrauterine contraceptives from TiNi alloys is developed jointly with scientists of the institute of technical acoustics of National academy of sciences. The peculiarity of the technology is the use of ultrasonic vibrations at form setting.

Summary: The technology for making intrauterine contraceptives from TiNi alloys is developed.
