Anti-tampering system: a novel application for shape memory alloy actuators

The spreading of shape memory alloys and related technology in the industrial field is often related to the lack of knowledge of the different opportunities for the application of SMA actuators.

In the present paper a novel application for shape memory alloy actuators will be presented. In particular way it will be illustrated the design of miniature anti-tampering system and related device for the unlocking of the same in manual valves.
