The shape memory alloy (SMA) is better known as a functional material, since it has unique characters which are shape memory effect and superelastic behavior. It is reported that the functional degradation properties of SMAs are significantly affected by environmental temperature, aging temperature and aging time. Therefore, it is important to clarify the effect of environmental temperature, aging temperature and aging time on functional degradation properties of SMAs in order to broaden the field of SMA application. In the present work, cyclic tensile loading-unloading tests using the aged Ti-50.3at%Ni wire have been carried out to investigate the effect of aging temperature and aging time on the functional degradation properties of the Ti-50.3at%Ni alloy. The present work discusses the effect of aging temperature and aging time on the variation of the function properties with cyclic tensile loading-unloading and on the number of cycles to failure.
