An Insight into VDI2248 Guideline for SMA Actuators

With the VDI2248 guideline, developers of mechatronic systems get a useful tool for the productdevelopment and product testing phase. However, the complexity of the product development procedure has to be taken in account as well as the time span of the engineering procedure. The publication gives an insight into two parts of the guideline refering to a simple development example of an SMA driven system for an application in the field of building automation. The focus lies on the strategic approach toward the problem solution and the technical analysis of the scenarios.
