“Arc-based Additive Manufacturing of Shape Memory Alloys”
The use of arc-based additive manufacturing processes for the fabrication of large complex shaped parts based on shape memory alloys is currently being sought. In this keynote talk an overview of the existing body of knowledge on arc-based additive manufacturing of different shape memory alloys is presented, covering how appropriate process control can be used for the fabrication of alloys with excellent functionality and performance. Focus will be given to NiTi, Fe-based and Cu-based alloys given their industrial relevance.
