Understanding Your Quenchant Report

Care and maintenance of quench oil is critical to insuring that the quench oil remains consistent, and provides trouble-free operation. This tutorial covers the three critical testing areas for a typical quench oil: Safety; Performance; and Oxidation. Each of the critical areas is illustrated with the type of testing utilized, as well as limitations of the various testing protocols. Some theory is provided for each of the testing, and ramifications of "out-of-specification" results.
