Understanding the Cooling Curve Test

As part of routine analysis, many suppliers provide cooling curve testing of quenchants. Aerospace and Automotive auditors are increasingly demanding that cooling curves be measured. This paper examines the cooling curve test and discussed the repeatability of the test. Further, a discussion is held regarding ramification of specifications, and the effect of changing the shape of the cooling curve.
