Effect of Steel Composition on the Dispersion of Oxide Inclusions in Steel Melts

T. Suzuki, T. Koseki, The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan

View in WORD format

Summary: Reactive wetting between steel and oxide was investigated to improve the dispersion of oxide particles that can be used for the microstructure control of steels and their welds. Titanium in steel was found to increase the wettability, and the dispersion of oxide particles was improved in arc-melted titanium bearing steels.
