Model Based Metal Transfer Control

Summary: A novel metal transfer control scheme for pulsed gas metal arc welding is presented. A melting rate model and a variable time interval between the pulses are used to ensure a fixed size of the drops at initiation of each pulse. In this way the pulse shape can be optimized for one particular drop size.
