Summary: Algorithms for inverse analysis of welding and heat deposition processes are presented. The mathematical foundation of these algorithms is based on the fact that a very large class of temperature fields, associated with different types of welding processes, can be represented parametrically by linear combinations of solutions to the heat conduction equation.
