Summary: Linear friction welding of Ti-6%Al-4%V was performed under different processing conditions of frequency, amplitude, pressure and shortening. Examination of the Ti-6%Al-4%V joints was performed using microscopy techniques as well as microhardness and tensile testing to define the optimum processing conditions for producing both microstructural integrity and mechanical properties similar to the parent material.
