Summary: Thermal cycles during twin wire welding has been simulated with three dimensional heat transfer modeling. An appropriate model has been developed and validated with experiments. Effects of weld variables on thermal cycles have been simulated and quantified so as to visualize the interrelationship between weld parameters and thermal responses.
