The influence of build directionality on the fatigue properties of Ti-6Al-4V is investigated in this paper. Ti-6Al-4V specimens were manufactured in the horizontal and vertical direction and subjected to fatigue. The strength, ductility, and Smooth High Cycle Fatigue (HCF) were evaluated to determine its effects. Significant differences were observed for those specimens built in the vertical vs. horizontal direction. The role of defects as well as microstructure and its impact on the observed increase in properties is discussed.
