This presentation details the fractography and material characterization of Ti-6Al-4V tensile and fatigue coupons fabricated by laser powder bed fusion on either an EOS m280, or EOS m290 machine. Characterization via microstructural analysis and microhardness testing was performed on the fractured coupons. Fracture surfaces were examined by optical and scanning electron microscopy along with chemical analysis performed with energy dispersive spectroscopy. The presentation will highlight the fractographic features observed and compare the AM fractures to wrought titanium fracture surfaces.
