Session 1: Induction Heating Technology
Location: D3-26/27 (COBO Center)
(Please check final room assignments on-site).
Session Description: This topic starts with the basics of induction heat treating and quickly progresses to more advanced induction principles. Manufacturing engineers, metallurgists, and maintenance personal will benefit from attending these sessions. Processes, equipments and controls used with induction heating are discussed. The processes of hardening, tempering, and annealing with induction are discussed in detail. Process parameters such as power level, energy density, frequency and quenching are discussed. Attendees develop a clear understanding of the independent variables that influence the induction heating process. Gear hardening, crankshaft hardening, shaft hardening and a multitude of other components are discussed. Capital equipment and process alternatives with actual applications are reviewed.
