Session 17: Braze Applications in Energy and Transportation
Location: Executive Salon 4 (Crowne Plaza Riverwalk San Antonio)
(Please check final room assignments on-site).
Session Description: There are numerous applications in the energy and transportation industries where brazing offers the most practical and often the only solution for fabricating difficult-to-build assemblies. Joining of dissimilar materials and limiting or controlling thermal exposure during processing are specific examples. Whether due to the base materials, joint design or service requirements, brazing becomes the process of choice. This session will examine the latest technology used in industry to build reliable and high-consequence joints. Wide gap diffusion and copper-brass brazing, braze repair of nozzle segments and gas turbine engine vanes, and marine rotor induction brazing will be discussed.
