Session 10: Braze Joining Composite Materials
Location: Executive Salon 2 (Crowne Plaza Riverwalk San Antonio)
(Please check final room assignments on-site).
Session Description: This session relates to the ceramic/glass brazing sessions, but focuses on the joining of composite CMC and MMC materials. Engineers involved in the design and fabrication of composite materials with a need to attach the composites to other structures should pay particular attention to this session. Presentations include studies of the properties and behavior of brazed metal-composite joints, brazing of titanium to high conductivity carbon-based composites, the solder joining of aluminum-matrix-composites and the fracture of brazed W-Cu Composites.
