Nondestructive evaluation is a term can be thought of similar to a toolbox. Various tools are available for use. They all have their particular advantages and limitations to assist not only in quality control and manufacturing issues, but also to provide additional perspectives in failure analysis work.
This talk will review a number of these tools, briefly reviewing their application principles. Following those overviews, more detailed application in various industrial case histories will be presented.
The material will be given in a user-friendly manner that should ideally allow the presentation to be followed by those with metals and materials backgrounds. No specialized knowledge of NDE applications will be required of the audience.
