Design of Novel Functional Materials by Using Circular Economy based Design Framework

Sustainability has become an important topic of research. Biomass is an abundant but underutilized source of raw material. In this paper, I will present some of the recent progress in my research group in designing novel functional materials from biomass. Some examples are sustainable polymers, greening of manufacturing process, among others. Detailed microstructure by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and follow up characterization thermal and mechanical characterization of these materials will be presented.
