Metallurgical evaluation of a fractured 17-4PH engine stand pin

Following transport of an engine from the factory to the customer one of 4 support pins was discovered fractured. The metallurgical examination revealed that it had brittle features. The evaluation covers some of the aspects examined in determining root cause.
