Ultrasonic melt treatment attracts considerable interest from industrial as a promising route to provide clean, energy efficient and environment friendly solutions for metal casting industry, such as improving melt quality and providing structure refinement. In the solidification process of aluminum matrix composites, ultrasonic treatment can refine grains, disperse reinforced particles, refine degassing and improve component distribution. However, the existing research on ultrasonic melt treatment technology is mainly based on experience and phenomenon description, lack of quantitative characterization and essence disclosure. Through experimental testing, theoretical derivation and numerical simulation, our research systematically studies and discusses the solidification behavior and generation mechanism of aluminum matrix composites under ultrasonic field. These results provide vuluable theoretical guidance and new insights that are essential for the preparation of development of ultrasonic melt processing.
