Advanced Manufacturing Panel: Progress and Opportunities

This panel session and workshop will address the current status of advanced manufacturing technologies and key developments needed to achieve the promise of Industry 4.0. Four expert panelists will give brief talks on cross-cutting issues such as materials mechanisms that tailor material properties and performance characteristics; processing path dependency of microstructure and properties; availability and use of data and analytics; and issues related to the development, acceptance, and broad-based application of new processing technologies. A workshop segment will invite attendees to help define the priorities for ASM International and collaborating organizations to provide the necessary networking, information, and technology resources to accelerate progress.
