Addressing today’s critical scientific and societal challenges requires increasingly collaborative, cross-disciplinary and convergent approaches through new modes of engagement to ensure broad participation across the entire engineering ecosystem. The Engineering Research Visioning Alliance (ERVA - www.ervacommunity.org) empowers the engineering community to identify nascent opportunities and priorities for engineering-led innovative, high-impact, cross-domain research that addresses national, global and societal needs. As a National Science Foundation (NSF)-supported initiative, ERVA is committed to obtaining continuous input and feedback on contemporary engineering research priorities and future directions; through our engaged partnership, ERVA and ASM International seek to enable your voice. In this session, we will provide an overview of ERVA, share how you can get involved, and invite via facilitated discussion to gather your insights into emerging and long-term fundamental and translational research opportunities.
