Overview Failure Analysis of electronic components is a highly technical activity, requiring highly skilled personnel, increasingly comples and costly equipment, and the development of increasingly sophisticated techniques and methods to discern the location, nature, and root cause of defects. The operation and development of a Failure Analysis laboratory need to be managed with an eye toward cost-effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and meeting the challenges of a rapidly changing technology environment. At the same time the career growth needs of the individual analysts and the staffing of new personnel and tools/techniques must be maintained.
