Research on Plasma Sprayed High Crystallinity Degree Hydroxyapatite Powder for Biological Coating

Biomaterial coating is asked to have high degree of crystallinity and phase purity, but preparation of the high crystallinity degree hydroxyapatite powder is not by attraction. In this paper a new method is applicated to prepare medical high crystallinity degree of hydroxyapatite biological materials. Scanning electronic microscope SEM and Xray diffraction are applicated for characterization of the hydroxyapatite powder. Result indicated the refused treatment hydroxyapatite powder have a better crystals degree, and it is very compact and smooth in the powder surface. This refused treatment powder supply a good character for thermal spray.
