Session 3B: Surface Engineering III: Plasma and Atmospheric Processes
Location: Governors Hall II, III & IV (Radisson Riverfront Hotel)
(Please check final room assignments on-site).
Session Description: These sessions will address development and use of both novel and established surface treatment technologies for medical devices. Specific
surface properties that will be highlighted include control of friction and wear, improvements in corrosion resistance and biomcompatibility, and controlled alteration of surface roughness. A diverse range of treatment
processes including vacuum-based coatings, thermal spray, plasma- and laser-based processing, and thermal and electrochemical treatments will be presented and discussed.
