M. J. Jackson, G. Robinson, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN

View in WORD format

Summary: The interaction of fs laser pulses with the surface of aluminum has been investigated to study material re-deposition, surface roughness, and ablation rate. By varying certain process parameters and gas environment the machining rate can be varied to provide optimum machining conditions. This paper investigates the interaction of fs laser with aluminum surfaces.
