Summary: New borosilicide-based multi-layer coatings have been synthesized and applied onto a wide variety of Mo-TM-Si-B (TM= Nb, Cr, Ti) alloys which are being developed as high temperature structural materials. The multi-layer coatings provide an excellent oxidation protection at temperatures in excess of 1400C.
