Session Description: This symposium focuses on using various analytical techniques to characterize surfaces, with an emphasis on applications of scanning probe techniques for nanoscience. Research of instrumentation and novel methods and in industrial applications of surface analytical techniques will be presented. Papers will cover measurement and analysis of mechanical properties and surface morphology including imaging mechanism, elastic and plastic deformation, scratch and adhesion tests, tribology and lubrication, surface modification, self-assembled monolayers. | ||||
