Session Description: This session covers advances in biomedical technology and regenerative medicine that affects the lives of millions of people worldwide. It describes how advances made in the area of thin solid films and surface engineering contribute to our understanding of improving the lives of patients who require medical treatments for a variety of conditions, leading to improvements in their quality of life. Papers will focus on such aspects as machining of bone, drilling of teeth, laser machining of microfluidic devices used for drug delivery systems, and many others medical applications. | ||||
