Laser marking was used as a labeling process on different surface types of nickel-titanium alloyed wires. The study examines primarily the effect of oxidation state on laser marking quality, which is also associated with the surface contrast. Wires with oxidized and oxide-free surfaces were selected as reference materials. The study examines light oxidized, chemically etched, and combined polished wires under laser marking conditions.
