Process-Planning Models for Welding Using Bayesian Networks

Summary: To produce reliable process-planning models for control of robotic welding a system is developed. A Bayesian network is used as the inverse process-planning model and it obtains knowledge from interviews of operators and empirical welding experiments. The proposed system enables inverse generation of welding variables before and during welding.
